As Tyscot Records continues to celebrate its 50th anniversary, great things just keep on happening. In a first for the label, Tyscot Records’ affiliated acts hold four of the top five songs on both the Billboard and Mediabase Gospel Airplay charts this week.
Gospel legend John P. Kee’s “Church Medley” is No. 1 on the Mediabase Gospel Airplay chart after 35 weeks of activity. The song anchors Kee’s latest album, Throwback An Evening with John P. Kee Part 1 (Kee Music Group / Tyscot), that is currently nominated for seven Stellar Gospel Music Awards. The track is No. 3 on Billboard’s Gospel Airplay chart.

Then, Baltimore, Maryland Pastor Jason Nelson and soulful crooner Madison Ryann Ward’s mellow groove “Made New” (Jaelyn Song / Tyscot / Fair Trade Services), is No. 1 on the Billboard Gospel Airplay chart for the week ending August 8th. The song hails from Nelson’s album, You Belong: Live in Durham, that won the Best Contemporary Gospel Album of the Year accolade at the Stellar Gospel Music Awards in 2025. The track is No. 2 on Mediabase.

Darrel Walls’ smooth paean, “Able” is No. 2 on the Billboard chart and No. 5 on Mediabase. The PJ Morton produced track hails from their Grammy® Award winning collaborative album, Heart of Mine. Morton, who appeared on NBC’s TODAY program last week, is on the chart with “Mercy” from his new double album, Saturday Night, Sunday Morning. The track is No. 3 on Mediabase and No. 4 on Billboard.
