This announcement comes just a week after Reach Records announced they signed 2819 Worship to their label.
“For Christ Alone” is a powerful 13-minute live recording that captures the energy and depth of a worship experience rooted in Scripture. The song centers on the message of Matthew 24:30, a sermon that founder and lead pastor Philip Anthony Mitchell spoke on for several months, that describes the Second coming of Jesus, while also drawing from Colossians 1:18, declaring Jesus Christ is the head of the body, which is the church, and the “firstborn from the dead” a title of authority and victory in resurrection, not creation. Together, these truths anchor the song’s message: Christ alone stands for us and leads the way for us, and in the end, there will be no more arguments about who was telling the truth.
“This song is not about us,” shares founder and lead pastor at 2819 Church Philip Anthony Mitchell, “‘For Christ Alone’ is a declaration that the church has only ever had one Savior, one King, one hope… and His name is Jesus. We released this because the gospel demands to be sung, not softened.
“If ‘For Christ Alone’ does nothing else, I pray it returns the church to the weight of who Jesus actually is: the risen Son of God who saves sinners and reigns over everything.”
When speaking about the creation of the song, Mitchell continues, “We didn’t chase a moment. We submitted to a message. Every lyric was weighed against Scripture before it was weighed against sound. Because at the end of the day, we will answer to God for what we put in the mouths of His people.”
Echoing this sentiment, Executive Pastor at 2819 Church, Lonnell Williams, adds, “ ‘For Christ Alone’ is the first brick. What God is building through 2819 Worship is bigger than a release; it’s a reset. The church has been waiting for songs that center Him without compromise, and April 24 is the day we stop waiting.

“We’re not here to compete. We’re here to contribute. ‘For Christ Alone’ is our contribution to a generation that needs to hear who Jesus is from a church that actually believes it. This is only the beginning: part of a new wave of worship expression with Reach Records, creating a song that crossed a million impressions before it ever dropped, a team that chose the room over the spotlight… none of that is an accident. That’s what happens when you build with conviction.”
With a clear vision and growing momentum, 2819 Worship’s official launch signals a powerful new voice in the worship landscape.
