Shanta Williams-Fuentes is a faith-based Pop Singer and Songwriter from Brooklyn, New York City. She began performing at the tender age of 6 at “Faces International ” and “The Barbizon school of modeling”. She later attended Performing Arts Academy in Middle School and “LaGuardia High School of Music & the Arts” (also known as the ” Fame” high school ) in Manhattan.
Shanta began attending church with her family at the age of 12. She served in the Youth Ministry and Choir at “The Brooklyn Tabernacle”. At 16 Shanta was discovered at her first open mic night at “Dillon’s Cabaret” by German Record Producer Toby Gad and began developing a career in the music industry. Shanta has since worked with various music professionals and has over a decade of songwriting and recording experience. She was also nominated for an ” L.A Music Award “. After starting a family, Shanta took a life-changing hiatus from music.
In 2016 Shanta rededicated her life to God and felt called back into music, as a ministry. Entering the Christian Music scene in 2017, Shanta independently released her debut single “In A New Way”. The song earned her an award from “The Akademia Awards” also located in Los Angeles, California. Shanta continues to inspire others and pave a bright, promising path through music. In 2020 she released “Lenses “ and “Love like this” . Both songs are featured on her upcoming debut EP entitled “Desert Rose” . The EP is slated to be released in August of 2020.
ABOUT SONG:
Lenses is the first single off the Debut EP; “Desert Rose”. It is a Christian Pop /HipHop and R&B style song. The title and message of the song is metaphoric for perception as well as prophetic insight for the year of 2020 being the year of vision, synonymous with eyesight, clarity, and revelation. The song lyrics detail personal experiences in everyday life and circumstances that were difficult or challenging but have greater meaning, value, and purpose than what we sometimes think or feel in the natural. And by the supernatural grace and divinity of God the Father through the savior Jesus Christ we as believers are promised life in abundance and empowered to decree and declare change, breakthrough and blessings.
