ATLANTA, GA — Fresh off her return from Los Angeles, where she attended the The Impact Awards and joined an esteemed gathering of artists, entertainers, executives, and community leaders in paying tribute to Tyler Perry, Grammy, Dove, and Stellar Award-winning recording artist Jekalyn Carr is celebrating another major career milestone with five nominations for the 41st Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards.

She celebrates nominations in the categories of Artist of the Year, Albertina Walker Female Vocalist of the Year, Traditional Artist of the Year, Traditional Album of the Year, Music Video of the Year, and Recorded Music Packaging of the Year. The nominations recognize the tremendous success and influence of her acclaimed project, “Jekalyn X The Legends”, and further solidify her place among the most celebrated artists in gospel music today.

Carr, who remembers receiving her first Stellar Award at the age of sixteen, a defining moment that launched her music to audiences around the world. Since then, she has become one of gospel music’s leading voices, earning multiple Stellar, Dove, and Grammy honors while inspiring millions through music, ministry, business, and media.

Carr also expressed heartfelt appreciation to Don Jackson, whose vision created the Stellar Awards and established a premier platform dedicated to celebrating excellence in gospel music. For more than four decades, the Stellar Awards have honored artists, musicians, producers, songwriters, and industry leaders whose work continues to shape the genre and impact lives worldwide.
Adding to the excitement, I am glad to see Kirk Franklin, a gospel music icon returning as host of the Stellar Awards. He is widely regarded as a transformative figure in gospel music history, his groundbreaking career has expanded the reach of gospel music across generations and nations while influencing the global music industry.

The 41st Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at the Spectrum Center, located at 333 East Trade Street, Charlotte, North Carolina 28202. Carr is excited to join gospel music’s biggest celebration as the industry gathers in Charlotte and carries the theme, “Feels Like Home.”
