Island Tribe Collective Weekend Signals a New Global Movement in Caribbean Worship

Nassau, Bahamas: Island Tribe Collective has successfully concluded Island Tribe Weekend, a landmark gathering that united Caribbean worship leaders, artists, musicians, and industry voices for a historic weekend of worship, creativity, impartation, and impact. Hosted in The Bahamas, the weekend marked a defining moment one that many are already recognizing as the beginning of a global shift in worship emerging from the Caribbean.

Artists and leaders from The Bahamas, Barbados, Grenada, Trinidad and Tobago, Haiti, Jamaica, St Lucia, and St. Maarten gathered in one room with a shared purpose: to worship, create, develop, and build together under a unified vision.

The movement was spearheaded by Caribbean gospel trailblazer Sherwin Gardner, whose leadership continues to open new pathways for Caribbean worship and creative voices on the global stage.

Impartation, Excellence, and Global Alignment

A defining highlight of the weekend was the presence of respected industry leaders Ron Hill, Alex Todd, and Eboni Funderburk, who poured directly into the artists through mentorship, strategic insight, and hands on creative guidance. Their presence brought clarity and confirmation, helping shape not only the sound, but the direction of Island Tribe Collective as it moves toward global relevance and long-term sustainability.

Developing the Next Generation

A key component of Island Tribe Weekend was the Island Tribe Showcase, intentionally designed for emerging and younger artists. These artists were given the opportunity to present their music, receive direct feedback, and gain insight from seasoned industry professionals and leaders, creating a rare environment of growth, sharpening, and encouragement. The showcase reinforced Island Tribe Collective’s commitment to development, legacy, and creating clear pathways for the next generation of Caribbean worship leaders.

A Historic Live Recording Moment

While the showcase focused on development, the weekend also marked a powerful live recording experience, featuring some of the Caribbean’s most respected and established voices in gospel music. Artists such as Kevin Downswell, Marc Isaacs, John Yarde, Jaicko Lawrence, Colyn Kristopher, Alicia Taylor, Trecian Smith-Bryan and Alyssa Joseph, along with other notable voices, came together for a unified worship recording capturing a sound that reflects both Caribbean identity and global worship excellence.

Internationally recognized gospel artist Jonathan Nelson was also featured in the live recording, further affirming the global relevance and momentum surrounding the project. These live recordings now represent the next phase of Island Tribe Collective, moving from a historic gathering into a globally released worship project designed to introduce a unified Caribbean worship sound to the world.

Worship That Moves Beyond the Room

Island Tribe Weekend extended beyond music into tangible impact. In partnership with Project Hope Bahamas and Hands In Unison Jamaica, the Hurricane Relief initiative launched during the weekend exceeded expectations.

As a result, Island Tribe Collective confirms that a relief container will be shipped to Jamaica, providing essential supplies to communities still recovering from recent storms, demonstrating that this movement is not only heard, but lived out.

What Comes Next

Island Tribe Weekend was not an ending. It was a threshold. With live recordings now moving into final production, new partnerships forming, and global conversations underway, Island Tribe Collective is stepping into its next chapter, one that will see Caribbean worship take its place on the world stage with clarity, excellence, and unity.

This was more than a weekend I This was the foundation of a movement I Something global is coming.
