(Los Angeles, CA) May 7, 2021 – Powerhouse gospel R&B duo Dawkins and Dawkins, brothers Eric and Anson Dawkins, are set to share a new single titled ‘In My Feelings’, which will also be featured on their upcoming album, Never Gets Old. While this duo has always managed to successfully walk the line between gospel, soul and R&B, the Dawkins brothers say that this album leans more towards Mainstream R&B.
About Dawkins & Dawkins:
This a gospel/R&B duo group is made up of two brothers, Eric and Anson. The Dawkins brothers were raised in church and groomed as young musicians always honing their writing skills. Their time dedicated to creating music in church led to them being discovered and signed by Fred Hammond of the legendary group, Commissioned. Some of the group’s past projects include: Dawkins & Dawkins,1993 (A&M) Necessary Measures, 1994 (CGI) Focus, 1998 (Harmony) From Now On, 2011 (Light/Entertainment One) The Stellar Award and Dove Award nominated group has toured with acts such as Fred Hammond, Yolanda Adams, Take 6, Men of Standard and appeared with R&B crooner, Joe.
With being in music for over 27 years they have recieved praise from Jaime Foxx, Christina Aguliera, Usher, Chris Brown, and many more. They attribute both their success and shortcomings to unwavering when it came to others in the industry telling them they needed to change to fit into a certain industry category. They stayed true to their vision of success- rather than chase success through others’ definition of success for them.
When ask, why release this project now? The answer was straight forward; “We want to continue to put out music that provokes thought and emotion. Music that you can play 10 years from now and still feel that it is relevant. Music transports people to a better place either through reflection or through hope, and in today’s time people need hope more than ever!” Dawkins and Dawkins stated when asked about this new project – they hope to continue to be known as respected trailblazers and pioneers in the music field, as they have both attributed their success and shortcomings to unwavering when it came to others in the industry telling them that they needed to change to fit into a certain industry category.
