A number of gospel acts, as well as ministers, are set to participate at the three day Mindset Conference, which is scheduled for May 20-22 at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel in New Kingston.

The event, which is in its first year, is being spearheaded by Delroy Escoffery of D’Empire Management.

In an interview with the Jamaica Observer, Escoffery spoke about the objectives of hosting the conference.

“The overall objective is to build the gospel music industry. Our aim is to equip, encourage, and empower the creatives in the Kingdom of Christ,” said Escoffery.

He continued: “We will be having eight workshops, which will include songwriting, publishing, production, management, marketing and promotion, and music streaming.”

Some of the presenters will include Jaicko Lawrence, Alex Todd, Danny Browne, and Ian Pollard.

Said Escoffery: “I had no idea or desire to do a conference, but the Lord commanded me to go back to Jamaica, to help build the gospel industry, and I should start with a conference. Colin and I were discussing a certain conference and, after having different views between us, the Lord said: ‘Do your own conference.’ The name Mindset came to me two days later.”

Asked how easy or difficult it was to get the participants to commit to his initiative, Escoffery said: “Life comes with challenges, and to be honest the process of booking the international ministers was easier than booking some of my own Jamaican brothers and sisters. We have loads of work to do. Thanks to my brothers and sisters who said yes.”

Travis Greene, Dr Jackie Greene, Todd Galberth, Phil Thompson, Minister Marion Hall, Bishop Everton Thomas, Kevin Downswell, Sherwin Gardner, Rhoda Isabella, Alicia Taylor, and JohnMark Wiggan are among those scheduled to perform at the Mindset Conference.

“Aside from performances, presentations by keynote speakers, and panel discussions, there will be praise and worship. Undiluted word, wealth of knowledge to transform your mindset for a lifetime,” he shared.

Escoffery, who has had years as an artiste manager, event coordinator, producer, and promoter in the secular industry before embracing Christ as his Lord and saviour, resides in Greenville, South Carolina, in the United States.

He told the Observer that he could not resist the call that was placed upon him as he heeded the word he had from God.

“God said go back to Jamaica and build the industry by equipping, encouraging, and empowering the creative in the body of Christ; start with the music industry, do a conference; and then do a musical project with both international gospel artistes and Jamaican gospel artistes,” he revealed.
