On Tuesday, the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) reversed its decision to remove four categories, including reggae, Christian/gospel, and children’s music, from the 2025 Juno Awards. Allan Reid, president and CEO of CARAS, announced via social media that three of the four categories will be reinstated.
Reid explained that CARAS had reviewed award categories based on data like consumption and submissions, but following feedback from the community, they decided not to suspend the three categories this year.
When asked for a comment, @kanthonylive expressed his enthusiasm, stating that the decision is a great opportunity for artists and the Christian/Gospel genre. He shared that he was very happy with CARAS’s choice to reinstate the categories, recognizing the positive impact it will have on the music community.
