New Album “Agape Love” From Buzzing Indie Artist Greg Monk

Greg Monk, the world renowned prolific songwriter and Gospel Music recording artist, releases a brand new unforgettable album titled AGAPE LOVE.

The new project is an eight track album featuring motivating and spirit filled songs.

Monk transitions from his ballad “Better Plan” to a fun, dance uptempo record to lift the name of Jesus. “Lift Him Up” is a household song, one you want to start the day with but might not be able to sleep to because you’d want to dance all night long.

It’s a fun song, so infectious, you’ll smile, praise, clap and dance without even realising. Greg invites everyone to join him in looking to Jesus and “Lift Him Up” high above whatever we may have going on in life.

Greg Monk was born in Dallas, Texas, has a musical family and from high school days has been using his gift of music and songs at many shows and arts programs. Beyond the music, Monk is also a family man committed to being a vessel for the Lord. Saying yes to God’s plan has opened doors to serve as music ministry leader at his home church and it is his desire to bless audiences worldwide.

His new released album “AGAPE Love” underscores the unconditional, endless love of God, stretching far and wide with no boundaries nor limits. God’s love for us doesn’t require us to do anything to acquire, He loves us regardless and this type of love is only found in Him.

The GMA Dove Awards Nashville event will be held October 18th and will air exclusively on TBN and the TBN app, Friday, October 21st, 2022 at 8:00p.m. ET and 10:00p.m. ET

Nashville, TN (September 8, 2022) – The Gospel Music Association is pleased to announce Erica Campbell and Chris Tomlin as the hosts for the 53rd Annual GMA Dove Awards. The GMA Dove Awards are happening live and in person in Nashville, TN, October 18th, 2022. This year’s broadcast will air exclusively on TBN and the TBN app, Friday, October 21st, 2022 at 8:00p.m. ET and 10:00p.m. ET, with an encore presentation on October 28th, 2022 at 8:00p.m. ET and 10:00p.m. ET.

SONS THE BAND is the confluence of Denver transplant Jordan Colle and Detroit native Steve Davis. SONS THE BAND debut album, Live from 1971, will be available everywhere music is sold and streamed on Tuesday, September 9th.

Live from 1971 was recorded at 1971 Sounds in Atlanta, which has a history with SONS THE BAND. SONS THE BAND are paying homage to the studio by releasing this collaborative project. The studio captures the heart of both, which will always be creating songs for the Church. SONS THE BAND’s Jordan and Steve met in March 2020 at a songwriting camp hosted by Maverick City Music in Atlanta, GA. SONS THE BAND was born in Jordan’s studio a few months later, and dreams became a reality. In keeping with today’s contemporary Christian style, their sound centers around heavy guitars, gospel piano, and dynamic vocals. Although the elements may be like other groups, they hope the sound they create resonates through the Church and helps add a new expression to the worship of the King.
Upbeat and impactful, “Only Ever Good” expresses God’s unwavering goodness. The moment the track begins, the energy is evident. The joy and love of God come through in the vocals and the instrumental parts. Everyone who listens to this song will enter a space representing God’s all-embracing goodness. “His nature is goodness, and his goodness infinitely extends to his sons and daughters. It’s a declaration that in good times and bad, his nature doesn’t change.”

In contrast to “Only Ever Good,” “Cross and Empty Grave” is an introspective worship experience. The listener begins the journey with impactful, reflective lyrics and minimal instrumentals. Instead of presenting a standard praise and workshop song, Cross and Empty Grave tells the story of Christ’s journey to resurrection and the impact that journey has on all of us. “The lyrics remind listeners that even in his greatness and majesty, God still desires to have intimate relationships with his children. Through his resurrection, God reminds us that He is everything.”

About Local Sound:

Local Sound is a Nashville-based band and movement born from MyLocal, a growing community of house churches spread across multiple states and countries that is hyper-focused on developing leaders who plant churches right in their own neighborhoods. The sextet is made of Jared Runion, Alexis Butcher, Drew Harrison, Emily Wyant, Danny Lopez and Garrett Tyler, infusing a wealth of diversity and musical influences into their sound. (CHICAGO) August 5, 2022 — The highly anticipated Gospel event of the year, the 37th Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards, is set to air this Sunday, August 7, at 8 pm ET / PT, on BET and BET Her. Hosted by recording artists Jekalyn Carr and Kierra Sheard-Kelly, this year’s celebration promises to inspire audiences across the globe with uplifting performances from a variety of new and emerging Gospel artists, as well as standard bearers in the industry. This year’s ceremony will also be syndicated in various local markets across the country between August 13 and September 11, 2022. A full list of stations can be found at www.thestellarawards.com.

The Stellar Awards, which taped live on July 16th at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, Georgia, will feature many spirited moments that celebrate Gospel music while also spreading the good news. Among them:

Marvin Sapp, Koryn Hawthorne, and Brian Courtney Wilson will come together to deliver a powerful tribute to Aaron Lindsey, who will be honored with the Aretha Franklin Icon Award presented by Aflac.

Ricky Dillard, who will receive the James Cleveland Lifetime Achievement Award presented by Toyota, will also deliver renditions of “Every Knee Shall Bow,” “There Is No Way,” “More Abundantly,” “Glad To Be In The Service,” and “All Of My Help.”

Tye Tribbett will bring the energy with an electrifying offering of “Get Up,” James Fortune will minister in song with a medley of “I Am” and “Never Let Me Down,” and Wande will join forces with Jor’Dan Armstrong and Erica Campbell to perform “They Didn’t Know” and “Call.”

Additionally, Maverick City Music, Kirk Franklin, Le’Andria Johnson, Melvin Crispell III, and Zacardi Cortez will perform “Bless Me,” and will be joined by the Prairie View A&M University Drumline. Doe will perform “Brighter” and “When I Pray,” Rudy Currence and Chrisette Michele will deliver a duet of “No Greater Love,” and Jason Nelson will lift his voice to the sounds of “Residue.”

Travis Greene, Darrel Walls, and Kelontae Gavin will perform “Dependable”, and Travis introduces his new group Forward City with a performance of “Tent Revival.” AT&T Dream in Black Emerging Artists such as Aaron Cole, Erica Mason, and Lamont Sanders will also be spotlighted as up-and-coming gospel talent.

BROOKLYN, NY – August 5, 2022 – Vincent Bohanan’s rousing “Jesus Saved the Day” causes on-the-spot pandemonium the moment it begins, is one of the most streamed songs off of Bohanan’s Live from Chicago album and is now the latest digital single release from HezHouse Entertainment.

Available August 5 on all digital service providers, “Jesus Saved the Day” is a track that Bohanan says will touch the heart of the listener. He told The Christian Beat that the song was written from his heart: “I had the ability to speak my mind and put into a song; after all that I have been through, His love saved my life.”

Vincent Bohanan, who also serves as Pastor of The Winner’s Assembly in Brooklyn, has mastered the generational divide by reaching back to the days of traditional gospel choir music and bringing it fully into the new millennium. He tells Rolling Out that much of his music – in sound and style – is a spinoff of some of the Gospel greats he grew up watching, including Brooklyn’s own James Hall, Hezekiah Walker and Timothy Wright. “Growing up, I went to the Institutional Church of God in Christ. The Institutional Radio Choir is known all across the country. They were my inspiration, and I had the opportunity to watch them every Sunday, every week, and it was a blessing,” he says.

Walker, whose Love Fellowship Choir continues to epitomize the “New York Groove” that has inspired generations of ensembles, says “Jesus Saved the Day” was one of his favorite Vincent Bohanan songs from the moment he first heard it. “I was in Chicago when they recorded this song, and it was just electrifying. By the way the crowd responded, I knew people would love it. Everywhere that song is performed, the room just explodes. It really represents what Brooklyn choirs are known for – Vincent Bohanan & SOV are carrying that tradition well,” says Walker.

It should come as no surprise that “Jesus Saved the Day” is sonically evocative of 1990s gospel choirs while lyrically it speaks to today’s continued uncertainty. “This song was recorded right before the pandemic, for an album released during the pandemic, and is now being released as a single while the world is still upside down in many ways,” says Bohanan. “The times that we are in remind us that we know not what tomorrow will bring, but I think this song communicates to all people, not just Christians, that there is hope and that we can find hope and replenishment through music.”
